Whether you're brand new to printmaking or an experienced relief printer looking to play, this hands-on course offers eight accessible, low-pressure workshops to create unique, personalized art. You’ll dive into relief printing, stamp-making, and mark-making—learning how to carve your own linoleum block, ink it up, and transfer your design onto paper. Bring along a few simple inspirational images you’d love to print, plus your apron, patience, and creativity! What You'll Learn & Create: Printmaking Essentials: Get comfortable with traditional carving tools, water-based inks, and transfer techniques. Design & Patterning: Experiment with repeat patterns, custom stamps, and original designs. Texture & Materials: Discover hands-on methods for layering unique textures and marks into your work. Meet your Instructor!
Edgar Fernandez (B.1990, Los Angeles, California) is an Artist based in Phoenix, Arizona. His Practice foregrounds pro-indigenous perspectives and explores Xicano identity, drawing deeply from his ancestral heritage. In 2019, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting at Arizona State University. Fernandez is an award-winning artist featured in solo exhibitions, group shows, residencies, and public art mural projects. Currently, Fernandez is dedicated to creating culturally relevant work that reflects the community shaping his artistic practice.
